uilding on the success of Official Opposition Tourism critic Spencer Chandra-Herbert's round table with business and tourism professionals last year, on Tuesday, April 02, Chilliwack-Hope MLA Gwen O'Mahony will host another round table discussion at the Convention Hall of the Hope Recreation Centre.

"It's important that I hear the concerns and ideas of tourism professionals and share with them what I've learned over the past year as their MLA", said O'Mahony. "Government and its initiatives are most successful when informed by the people who create economic opportunity: entrepreneurs".

The Fraser Canyon is a unique area of the Chilliwack-Hope riding, full of opportunities for British Columbia's tourism market. O'Mahony noted that "the Fraser River, majestic mountains, pristine lakes and forests of the area, are like nature's invitation to the world to come and see. We want to find ways to not only share that invitation, but to support it strategically."

The City of Hope, nestled in its stunning mountain setting, stands as an ideal access point to the wonders of the Canyon. "Once people have seen what this area has to offer, they want to return again and again. This is a solid foundation to build a robust industry on, raising the profile of Hope and the Fraser Canyon and providing an economic boost to sustain that profile", said O'Mahony.
