Saving Habitat  

Trinity Western's Steensma to speak March 21 at UFV

f you see a group of people toiling on riparian areas around Chilliwack and the Upper Fraser Valley, chances are they volunteers led by Fraser Valley Wastersheds Coalition Executive Director Rachel Drennan working at restoring riparian areas around some of the local waterways like Hope Slough and the Little Chilliwack River.

 

They also work with local schools on various initiatives and are looking for volunteers to help them in future projects. 

 

Additionally, the FVWC hosts different speakers at their meetings which take place at the UFV campus.

 

The next FVWC meeting features  Karen Steensma M. Sc. who is currently at Trinity Western University where she is Co-Director of Environmental Studies Program & Associate Professor of Biology (photo). Steensma will be speaking on a topic yet to be announced.
