t's about the families left behind. The mothers, the wives and the kids.

Last Saturday, the Ride for the Fallen left Trev Deeley's in Vancouver and headed for Sapper's Memorial Cenotaph in Chilliwack where they met up with Silver Cross families, veterans and supporters for a memorial service.

Each year, the 3rd CAV Ubique Unit hold the fundraiser ride including a wreath-laying ceremony for families who lost loved ones in conflict.

This year was a little different for the 3rd CAV Ubique, who put together a specially designed motorcycle for 26-year-old soldier Dan Scott.

Scott, now a reservist, was seriously injured 2 years ago in Afghanistan by schrapnel from a land mine near Kandahar.

He used to love riding motorcycles but after his accident had trouble sitting properly, so CAV members put together a "bobber", a shortened bike with a short wheel base which will allow Scott to once again take up his passion for riding.

The presentation was made in Vancouver to Scott's mother.
