Pedestrians Mowed Down in Harrison

Three injured, one airlifted to hospital in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle

Paramedics and first responders rush a man into Chilliwack General after he was hit by a vehicle Sunday in Harrison.

 

ragedy struck at around 1:15 p.m. on an idyllic Sunday in Harrison when a vehicle plowed into three pedestrians at the intersection of Harrison Hot Springs Rd and Esplanade Ave.

 

RCMP spokesperson Cst. Cynthia Kershaw told The Voice they are currently gathering information regarding the accident and will have more details later.

 

What we do know is that a medical doctor, who happened to be passing by, jumped in to assist, calling for an IV for one of the patients and that Harrison first responders and BC Ambulance paramedics were on the scene within minutes of the call.

 

One of the people hit, suffered serious injuries and was reportedly slipping in and out of consciousness, so Medi-Vac was dispatched to airlift the victim to hospital.

 

Another victim, shown in the photo above, suffered what may have been a broken leg and there is no word on injuries to the third person.

 

The driver was reportedly unhurt and remained on the scene.
