Txweltse is Finally Home

Dinner & Dialogue series continues July 16

n our ancestors time, a man named Txweltse ,from the Tselxwyeqw Tribe (Chilliwack Tribe) of St:lō, was turned to stone by Xex:ls the Transformers.

 

After a long but successful repatriation effort, Stone Txweltse figure now resides at the St:lō Resource Centre where he carries on teachings others how to live together in a good way.

Learn of his journey home from the Burke Museum and what he and his return mean to the St:lō people. Join us to witness and hear of current repatriation issues and efforts within St:lō territory, being carried out by the St:lō House of Respect Caretaking Committee. Film produced by Herb Joe, Dave Schaepe, Sonny McHalsie and the St:lō Research and Resource Management Centre, in association with Bear Image Productions.

 

The public is welcome. Admission is free. Dinner is by donation.
