Man injured in residential swimming accident
Emergency crews load a man into the Medi-Vac chopper after he was injured in a swimming accident Saturday afternoon.
mbulance paramedics were dispatched to a home in the 9700 block of Harrison St. after a man in his early 40's dove head-first into a pool only 4 feet deep. It's unclear how high up he was before jumping.
There is no word on the man's condition, however according to reports, the man was conscious and breathing at the time of the accident.
The Medi-Vac chopper was summoned and the Chilliwack Fire Department set up a landing zone on the pitch at Central Elementary School on Young Rd., and assisted in transfer of the patient from the ambulance to the helicopter, which then took the patient to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.
