July 1 Canada Day celebrations at Heritage Park in Chilliwack

Kids check out the plastic bull during Canada Day celebrations Friday at Heritage Park.

n Friday, Canada celebrated it's 144th birthday and each year Chilliwack joins in the festivities with some home grown fun.

The celebration is all about family and having fun with the kids. The event kicks off with a pancake breakfast and continues throughout the day with live entertainment, antique cars, military vehicles including a refurbished WW2 Sherman tank named "Caroline". The day ends with a bang when fireworks lights up Chilliwack's sky.
