njoy this excellent opportunity for weekly exploration of nature in February with your 3 and 4 years olds.

The class will meet each Monday in February, from 10:00 to 11:15 and caregivers are expected to attend as well. The cost is $60 per child for a series of 4 classes (or $15 per class per kid)

Each day will include a nature story, a nature craft, and outdoor exploration of the wetland habitat at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve. We have a wonderful indoor classroom, but the focus will be on being outdoors, so dress appropriately and bring a small pocket snack if you want.

Visit here to register, call 604 823 6603or e-mail Camile here.

Winter birding Workshop February 10

igratory birds are not back yet, but you can come and experience what the Great Blue Heron Reserve has to offer in the winter. This two hour workshop focuses on our winter residents with an emphasis on ducks and related species. No previous experience is required so we welcome both novice and experienced bird watchers and nature lovers.

This is a great opportunity for those wishing to introduce anyone young or old to the basics of bird watching. After a bit of theory in "the lab", we will walk around the trails of the reserve to apply what we have just learned. Since ducks donít move too much, you will have a chance to observe and learn about bird behavior and improve on your identification skills. Remember to wear warm clothing and bring binoculars and a bird ID guide if you have one (not mandatory as we will have some equipment available).

The cost for this two hour workshop is $40, but members pay $35.

If you are paying full price, you can register here   If paying the member's price (or if you want to become a member so you can pay the members price.) E-mail Camille here or call 604 823 6603.
