he nice weather has brought out pedestrians and cyclists and unfortunately, a spate of traffic mishaps occurred Thursday.

At around 2 p.m., a man riding a moped-style scooter collided plowed into a vehicle at Young Rd and First Ave. Reports are the rider was arrested on the scene, but that has not been confirmed by police.

Then, just after 4 p.m., a cyclist was involved in a collision with an SUV at the corner of Nowell St. and First Ave.

The driver was in tears as she stood watching BC Ambulance paramedics and first responders attend to the injured cyclist.

Pedestrians and cyclists need to be extra cautious as the good weather continues. Those on foot and two wheels should not assume that drivers can see them just because they are there.
