Lumber Mill Fire

CFD will investigate suspicious fire in Yarrow

t approximately 3pm on January 26, 2012, firefighters from Chilliwack Fire Department fire halls 1, 3, 4 and 6 responded to a fire in a lumber mill located in the 4400 block of No. 3 Road. Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully involved Quonset type structure used for lumber storage.

Crews managed to control the fire and prevent it from extending into the remaining wood manufacturing buildings. An excavator was brought in to remove the stacked lumber and completely extinguish the fire. No firefighters were injured. Cause of the fire is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department and RCMP fire investigators.
