Interior Community Hit Hard By Loss

Chilliwack firefighters mourn Enderby comrade

he City of Chilliwack Fire Department will be well represented at Captain Dan Botkin’s Funeral on Thursday, January 5,  2012. The Fire Department will have twelve of its Paid-On-Call firefighters attending along with one Chief Officer.

Chilliwack Fire Department will be joining Abbotsford Fire Rescue, Mission Fire Rescue and members of other Fire Departments through-out the Fraser Valley Regional District in paying respects to Mr. Botkin and his family. The funeral is being held at the Enderby Memorial Arena at 11AM. Over 750 firefighters are registered to attend.

The Chilliwack Firefighters also raised an additional $3000 from its 2012 Fire Department Calendar over the past few days of 2011. All proceeds will be directed to the Dan Botkin Memorial Fund. The general public can also make a donation to the fund at our main fire hall, during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, at 45950 Cheam Avenue. With a minimum $15 donation you will receive a Fire Department calendar.
