Teens seen
running from scene as fire breaks out
Staff/Voice photos

Mounties search with a dog for suspects
in suspicious fire early Wednesday morning in the 45000 block of
Watson Rd.
ire
broke out in a home on Watson Rd. at Dundee Dr. just before 4 A.M.
this morning. A neighbour told police they saw at least two kids
running from the home as smoke was spotted. Mounties set up a
perimeter in an effort to contain the suspects and dispatched a K9
unit. There was no word if suspects were apprehended at press time.
It's not clear if the home
was vacant at the time of the fire because the neighbour also said
that he hadn't seen any vehicle parked there over the last month.
One fireman was overcome
by the noxious white smoke billowing from the home and was seen
being treated by paramedics on the scene.
More on this later as it
becomes available.
