Chilliwack FD is asking residents to clear the ice and snow from hydrants

he City of Chilliwack Fire Department would like to make residents aware and request their assistance in ensuring that snow and other debris are clear of fire hydrants.

                                                                     A fire hydrant on Mary Street Thursday.

With the accumulation of snow over the past few days, homeowners may be unaware that they have covered up or impeded access to fire hydrants on their property.   If you do have a hydrant on your residential or business property, clear an area approximately three meters around the entire hydrant with a pathway to the road or sidewalk.  This will allow full access for the Fire Department in the event of an emergency in your area.
