A Lesson Well Learned

Local Company Ironsides wins Small Business BC's Best Apprenticeship award

Small Business BC

ronside has always been a part of the ITA Apprenticeship Program but the past year has seen an increased devotion to the program as we work with Apprentices one on one to help them succeed through the program and we are seeing great success.

We believe that sharing knowledge and tips and tricks of our previous graduates and qualified trades people with apprentices will build up knowledgeable and sought after graduates who will then choose to stay on with us.

Through our relationships with local schools we are seeing an increase in school tours to learn about our manufacturing facility and what the skilled trades can offer. We have seen a lot of great feedback from these students and teachers.

Though we keep a small work force this past year we have been able to register 5 new apprentices in two different trades, and saw 2 employees challenge and pass their Partsperson level 3 Red Seal program and they will now be helping train our Partsperson Level 1 apprentice.
