Arson suspected in CFD training structure blaze

The City of Chilliwack Fire Department was using this home as a training structure before it caught fire Monday.
t 9:48pm last night, firefighters from Chilliwack fire halls 1, 4 and 5 responded to a structure fire in the 46000 block of Prairie Central Road. When firefighters arrived they found a 2 storey single family residential house fully involved. The house was being set up to be eventually used for fire department training purposes.
Firefighters confined and extinguished the fire but not before the house was extensively damaged and is not considered salvageable.
There were no firefighter injuries.
This fire was deliberately set and is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire Department and RCMP fire investigators.
