By Chrissy Newton, VC

Nelly will be playing Vancouver on his All Work and No Play tour.

ulti-platinum and Grammy award-winning rap superstar Nelly is wrapping up the year with an exciting new announcement for his Canadian fans. The hit maker behind hip-hop bangers like “Ride Wit Me”, "Hot In Here", “Dilemma” and “Country Grammar” will be kicking off his national “ALL WORK NO PLAY” promo tour starting in March 2018 where he’s set to perform in major cities across Canada including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver and more. This comes ahead of the artist’s highly anticipated eighth studio album which is slated to release next year.

Currently featured as one of Billboard’s “Greatest of All Time, Hot 100 Artists,” Nelly has cemented himself as one of best rappers in history for consistently pushing the envelope as both an artist and entertainer. Throughout his career, he’s collaborated with some of the biggest musical artists across multiple genres including Kelly Rowland, Justin Timberlake, Akon, Ashanti, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams, Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line and many more.  With multiple awards to his name, including two Grammy Awards, as well as multiple number one Billboard albums and singles throughout his career, Nelly looks forward to kicking off the new year with an unforgettable concert tour.

Limited pre-sale tickets will go on sale Wednesday, December 13 beginning at 10 a.m. followed by general public tickets on Friday, December 15 at 10 a.m.

“Since day one, my Canadian fans have been such a huge supporter of my music. This concert tour is my way of giving back some of the love and respect they’ve shown me throughout my career,” says multi-platinum artist Nelly. “My goal is to give fans a memorable experience. They’ll get to party with me, jam to some of my best hits and get a sneak peak of some of the new material I have in store for them. It’s going to be wild.”

Nelly first hopped onto the scene in 2000 with his smash debut album, Country Grammar, which sold over nine million copies worldwide. It spawned multiple hit singles including “Ride Wit Me”, “Country Grammar”, and “E.I.” as well as four Grammy nominations, putting the new rapper front and centre of the music scene at the top of the new millenium. Nelly kept the momentum going with the 2002 release of Nellyville, which further cemented the rapper as one to watch in the industry. The album debuted at #1 and garnered two Grammy Awards for “Hot in Here” – Best Male Rap Solo Performance – and “Dilemma” [feat. Kelly Rowland] – Best Rap Song Collaboration. Since then Nelly has released five other albums including Sweat (2004), Suit (2004), Brass Knuckles (2008), 5.0 (2010) and M.O (2013) as well as hit singles like “Grillz”, “The Fix” and more.

Besides making noise within the hip-hop community, Nelly has proven his versatility as an artist for also collaborating with some of country music’s biggest entertainers. He first collaborated alongside Tim McGraw in 2004 for  “Over and Over” and later followed up with a collaboration with Florida Georgia Line on the 6x Platinum single “Cruise” in 2013. Nelly later released a cover of Thomas Rhett’s “Die A Happy Man”, which received high praises from MTV, Billboard and CMT. Throughout his career, Nelly has won multiple American Music Awards, a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award, Soul Train Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and was previously crowned “Top Pop, Rap, and R&B/Hip-Hop Artist Of The Year” by Billboard. Undoubtedly one of the biggest rappers in history, Nelly looks forward to making 2018 his most memorable year yet.

About Nelly

Nelly is a multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning rap superstar, entrepreneur, philanthropist and actor, who has continually raised the bar for the entertainment industry since stepping on the scene in 2000 with his chart topping album, Country Grammar. Country Grammar spent seven weeks at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and spawned the massive hits “Ride Wit Me”, “Country Grammar”, and “E.I.”.  The album landed Nelly four Grammy Award nominations and sold over nine million copies worldwide.  Nelly kept the momentum going with the 2002 release of Nellyville.  The album debuted at #1 on top of scoring Nelly his first two Grammy Awards for “Hot in Here” – Best Male Rap Solo Performance – and “Dilemma” [feat. Kelly Rowland] – Best Rap Song Collaboration. He has since gone on to win multiple American Music Awards, a Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award, Soul Train Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and was crowned “Top Pop, Rap, and R&B/Hip-Hop Artist Of The Year” by Billboard.

The multitalented Grammy-winning music icon, Nelly, has worked relentlessly on multiple television, film and music projects. Nelly celebrated the second season of his wildly successful BET docu-series, Nellyville and is currently co-starring in the #1-rated BET sitcom The Real Husbands of Hollywood for the show’s fourth season. After collaborating with Florida Georgia Line on the 6x Platinum single “Cruise,” Nelly got back in the studio to release his newest chart topper, “The Fix” Featuring Jeremih,  an update of the Marvin Gaye classic, “Sexual Healing”.

Nelly has pushed the boundaries of his artistry. After releasing “The Fix” with Jeremih, Nelly once again took the driver’s seat in a country song covering Thomas Rhett’s “Die A Happy Man”, which is actually his third time releasing a country single, following his Florida Georgia Line and Tim McGraw collaborations. The song drew rave reviews from MTV, Billboard and CMT respectively. The song was released on iTunes on Feb. 5th, and was leading Billboard’s airplay/sales/streaming-based Hot Country Songs chart following its release. Still hard at work on his upcoming new album, Nelly has been on the road touring nationally and internationally. nelly.net
