Crafty Christmas

he Annual Ryder Lake Xmas Craft Fair is this Saturday at Ryder Lake Hall 9-3 at 49265 Elk View Road.

 

Nettie Boyd, President of the Ryder Lake Women's Institute, will have a donation box at the Fair. They are collecting funds and donations for local families that may need a little assistance this Christmas.

       

Looking back to Christmas in the past I was interested to see what gifts were exchanged in 1613!

 

Judge Sir James Whitlock (1570-1632) made a list of gifts received for Christmas 1613 most items were food! (see below) Hopefully exchanging baked goods, jams and preserves is returning us to some of the values of the past.
 
There will be 19 tables loaded with great items.
