Energy Inc., a BC-based renewable hydroelectric developer that is
wholly owned by Innergex Renewable Energy Inc., proposes to
construct three run-of-river hydroelectric projects (collectively,
the "Projects") in the Harrison Lake area, specifically:
-
the Tretheway Creek
Waterpower Project (23 MW);
-
the Shovel Creek
Waterpower Project (13 MW); and,
-
the Big Silver Creek
Waterpower Project (36 MW).
The Projects together have
the capacity to generate 72 MW of clean, renewable electricity.
Information regarding the Projects is available at:
www.tsbhydro.com
An Application for an Environmental Assessment Certificate (the
"Application") for each of the Projects was submitted to the BC
Environmental Assessment Office (BCEAO) and the Canadian
Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) on November 14, 2011.
Cloudworks has decided that the Environmental Assessment of the
Statlu Creek Project will not be submitted together with the Big
Silver/Shovel and Tretheway Projects at this time.
BCEAA and CEAA are in the
process of conducting the "30-day screening review" of the
Application. BCEAA, CEAA and Cloudworks are tentatively planning to
hold an Open House in mid-January 2012, pending acceptance of the
Application for the "180-day review". Details of the proposed
projects will be presented at the Open House and any questions or
concerns from community members and interest groups will be
addressed.
Further details regarding
the Open House (time, date and location) will be announced at a
later date. For more information, please visit the BCEAO website at:
