Tuesday December 6, 2011 Community Protecting The Community From Hunger Emergency services collects over 20,000 items Monday Released by Jeff Ullyot, CFD
This year in excess of 20,000 food items and cash were collected by volunteers on the Monday night campaign. The volunteers covered much of the city and the support of the community will make a significant impact on the local Food Bank reserves. This terrific partnership between the Salvation Army and local Emergency Services continues to grow along with corporate sponsorship from Safeway, Save-On-Foods and Price Smart Foods. Donations will continue to be accepted at the main Fire Hall #1 at 45950 Cheam Avenue (corner of Young Street and Cheam Avenue) during regular business hours, 830AM to 430PM.
