Canyon MP Mark Strahl is encouraging local residents to take advantage of
the opportunity to participate in pre-budget consultations launched by the
Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance.
"Our focus remains on jobs and economic growth. The
Conservative Government is eager to hear from Canadians on how we can best
deliver on these priorities," said Strahl. "I'm encouraging my constituents
to share their views on how we can continue to deliver responsible economic
management through our budgetary policies."
Cross-country consultations with Minister Flaherty will be taking place in
the New Year with venues and details to be announced as they become
available.
In order to ensure that all Canadians can participate in this process, the
Government of Canada has launched online pre-budget consultations. Those
wishing to make submissions can do so by visiting
here.
"The goal with Budget 2012 is to ensure that Canada continues to implement
policies that have allowed us to outperform our major trading partners and
that we secure a prosperous future for all Canadians," said Strahl.
According to the International Monetary Fund Canada will lead all developed
nations in economic growth this year and next. Forbes magazine ranked Canada
as the best place in the world for business to grow and create jobs. For
four consecutive years the World Economic Forum has rated Canada's banking
system as the world's soundest, and that five of Canada's largest banks were
named to Bloomberg's list of the world's strongest financial institutions,
more than any other country. Canada is the only developed country to recover
all jobs lost during the recession.
