Coun. Jason Lum (l) and Vicki Raw (r) accept a cheque for $50,000 Friday at the Coast Hotel.
The final total is not yet available, however Vicki Raw who is the Executive Director of the Foundation, accepted an oversized check pledging $50,000. Door prizes galore helped people's digestion and Raw told diners as they put on the feed bag that she was "so proud to be involved, it’s such a wonderful fundraising event for Chilliwack General Hospital, thank you all so much for your help." Mayor Sharon Gaetz and her husband Jim were also there in support of the hospital. "It's really quite sweet to come out in the morning and not have to cook breakfast in the morning. When you give a donation and you can do something good for the people of this town," said Gaetz. "We were talking last night just about how you get so busy with all of the Christmas hustle and bustle and doing things we need to do; baking, shopping, wrapping gifts, we sometimes forget there's hospital just down the road and those who never intended to end up there are now there and it's not really a choice to be there." We're going to do everything we can to make sure that they're comfortable at the hospital, that they're well staffed and have all of the equipment they need to make their job easier.
