Janzen Opts Out of Provincial Politics No word on her future plans in federal politics, if any Submitted by Diane Janzen/Voice file photo
Janzen expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her supporters and she said they should feel free to support the candidate of their choice.
Janzen expressed her gratitude to the Chilliwack public for the opportunity to serve as Chilliwack City Councillor, School Trustee and Chair of the Board.
“Chilliwack is a remarkable community of ‘can do’ entrepreneurs and caring and compassionate citizens. I value the opportunity to have served this great community,” she said in a release Saturday.
Janzen worked hard as a fiscal conservative to help deliver 9 balanced budgets for the public, complete major capital projects on time and on budget, and advance choice for parents in public education. She also voted against bailouts and high administration.
Janzen placed a great deal of emphasis on a caring community, believing that society should be judged by the way it treats its most vulnerable. She was the key driver on council to establish the Health Contact Centre with a mandate of addressing homelessness and addiction. She also fought for more supports for struggling learners at the school district.
