BIA News Christmas in the City Winter Carnival
Dec 17 in Chilliwack Submitted by Desmond Devnich, DBIA
"Everything is free and the idea is to have people come down and shop for Christmas in a fun and festive atmosphere," says Kathy Funk, Executive Director of the BIA. "With our new GETMOR program, it makes sense to shop downtown and receive further discounts," she adds. Other free, family-friendly events taking place from November 25 to December 17 include the Sutton Showplace Realty Gingerbread Village and the Coast Chilliwack Hotel Festival of Trees. Donations for the local food bank are being collected at all Christmas in the City events. "Shopping downtown has never been more exciting. With beautifully decorated windows, carolers and candlelight shopping, this is Christmas shopping the way it was meant to be," comments Desmond Devnich, event coordinator. The Winter Carnival starts at 11:00am and runs until 4:00pm on December 17. Members of the community are encouraged to visit the Downtown Chilliwack BIA website or connect with the BIA via Facebook or Twitter to learn more about the events brought to you by over 350 Downtown businesses.
