Friday December 16, 2011 Fire Dept News Commercial Bldg Fire Investigated Rosedale loses two businesses to early morning blaze Released by Jeff Ullyot, City of Chilliwack Fire Department
Upon arrival of firefighting crews, heavy smoke and fire was venting from the single story, 3500 square foot, vacant building. Fire crews from Halls 1, 2 and 6 fought the blaze for nearly three hours to gain control of the fire which had burned into the attic space, making it difficult to extinguish. The fire has gutted the basement and caused significant damage to the main floor that housed two businesses.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the City of Chilliwack Fire Department and the RCMP.
