"Unfortunately, this is
not uncommon for this time of the year," said Cst. Tracy Wolbeck.
"Thieves are breaking into mailboxes looking for cards or envelopes
containing money that has been sent as a Christmas gift." "It's
really sad that we need to warn people of this happening in our area
but it's a necessity."
The mailboxes where mail had been taken from had been pried open and mail taken. Theft of mail is a serious offence and anyone with information regarding these thefts is asked to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604 792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
