Realtors Come
Through For The Needy
CADREB says exceptional land deals to be had now
Released by Steve Lerigny, CRAE
ou
may have noticed that more often than not, if there is community
fund-raiser, a family oriented fair, or a seasonal initiative such
as a senior's tour of Christmas lights or a blanket and warm
clothing drive, your local REALTORS R are behind it.
Seeing the
multitude of needs in their respective communities, 17 years ago
Vancouver REALTORSR created the REALTORSCareT Foundation. This
quickly spread east to the Fraser Valley, then Chilliwack and now
covers much of BC. This outstanding initiative is now beginning to
gain momentum and move across Canada.
CADREB thanks the community for its continued support throughout the
year in taking part in various initiatives. Take the annual
REALTORSCareT Blanket Drive - what started as a downtown Eastside
project has expanded into the largest and longest-running Lower
Mainland drive, netting thousands of blankets and warm coats, hats
and mittens. Even when the news of economic downturns comes to
light, the communities of Chilliwack, Agassiz, Harrison Hot Springs
and Hope are quick to rally in support. This year was no different.
While REALTORSR resolve to continue helping people in their
communities both professionally and philanthropically, if one of
your New Year's resolutions is to buy your first home, move up to a
larger or newer home, or to buy your first investment property,
moderate year-end sales and an influx of new listings will give you
the upperhand.
At the beginning of December, 282 listings joined the sales roster,
bringing to 1,743 the number of active listings on the local market.
That translates to some exceptional deals, so with the interest
rates continuing at record lows and a stabilizing economy, the dream
of home ownership for many can now become a reality.
The close to 300 members of the Chilliwack and District Real Estate
Board wish everyone a very Merry Christmas season, and best wishes
for a happy and prosperous New Year!
