Let your pooch show their stuff on the Walk September 10.

elping to fight animal cruelty is as easy as a walk in the park. Animal lovers across the province are already registering and fundraising for the annual Scotiabank & BC SPCA Paws for a Cause walk, which is being hosted in more than 20 communities in B.C. throughout September and October – and you still have plenty of time to participate in your community.

The annual walk benefitting the BC SPCA Chilliwack Branch will be held at Vedder Park, 45450 Petawawa Road, on Sunday, Sept. 10, from 11 a.m. with the walk starting at noon.

Participants will be able to enjoy fantastic entertainment and activities, a barbecue and community vendor booths. The event brings animal lovers and their furry friends from all walks of life together for a great time as well as a fantastic cause. All thanks to our community sponsors, Cheam View Veterinary Clinic, Valley Veterinary Clinic, Vedder Mountain Vet Clinic, and Black Walnut Kennels.

“This is the largest single event to help fight animal cruelty in British Columbia,” says Carina Stirling, BC SPCA officer of fundraising events. “We are overwhelmed by the participation each year – it’s so great to see thousands of people come together across the province to help B.C.’s most vulnerable animals – and the great news is, this year, registration numbers are up! Our amazing supporters not only raise essential funds, the events are so much fun for two-legged and four-legged participants.”

The BC SPCA also wishes to thank generous provincial Paws sponsors: Scotiabank, PwC, TV Week and CTV.
