All ages are welcome to join the soccer fundraiser at Fairfield Park May 6. Below, Patti MacAhonic (c) accepts a cheque on behalf of the Ann Davis Transition Society in in 2016.

rab your shin pads and high socks and get ready to put the ball in the net for the 7th annual Impact 7-Aside Soccer Tournament.

Every kind of player from nannies to grannies and their fans will be at Fairfield Park, 6213 Claire Ave., Saturday, May 6, for some competitive fun.

There are 2 divisions with a maximum of 12 mixed teams in each division. The teams will compete until one team in each division becomes victorious!

All proceeds support the Cyrus Centre Chilliwack Emergency Youth Shelter.

We started out in 2011 as a backyard tournament that raised $700 for the Canadian Cancer Society. Every May, for the last 7 years, the Impact 7-Aside Organizing Committee has planned a community soccer tournament that raises funds for local charities.

We've now grown to become a competitive charity tournament that raised $29,598 in 2016 for the Ann Davis Transition Society. The focus is on hosting a family-friendly event with entertaining games of soccer and delicious food.

This should be one of the most successful fundraising efforts the Chilliwack Cyrus Centre has ever held. Next stop FIFA!

About Cyrus Centre’s Chilliwack Emergency Youth Shelter
Cyrus Centre’s Emergency Youth Shelter provides homeless youth, 18 and under, with a temporary, safe place to stay while working towards a long-term solution.

When they arrive, youth are often scared, sick, hungry and tired. The Cyrus Centre’s first priority is to help with some basic needs: medical attention, meals, a safe place to sleep, a warm shower, and clean clothing.

Cyrus Centre believes that, with support, nurturing, respect, tolerance and love, each individual will be empowered and equipped to make positive and lasting changes. For more information, visit www.cyruscentre.com
