ast Wednesday, around 4:30 a.m., a local security company employee on patrol, reported to police that someone was using electric tools inside the boarded-up courthouse on Victoria Ave.

Security guards then positioned themselves at the corners of the building while Mounties established an entry point.

Apparently, the suspect just ditched the tools and high-tailed it before police moved in.

A police K9 unit was brought in the search failed to find anyone inside.

It took some time, but eventually a big metal saw was passed out through a window facing the alleyway.

On Saturday, police were called to the abandoned Safeway building on Main St. after a security company employee found a back window had been compromised on the boarded-up structure.

Eventually a squatter inside agreed to come out and exited through the small portal on the back side. Police brought in a K9 unit and the building was more thoroughly searched.
