Centenarian and Then Some
Jean Scott celebrates her 101st birthday

hey just opened Tiger Stadium in Detroit and Lenin was busy raising the Iron Curtain in 1912 when Jean Scott was born.
When she turned 14-years-old Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton were on their way out as sound was added to film.
On Sunday the very distinguished Jean Scott officially turns 101. Scott was an activist focusing on social justice and women's issues for many years, and quite amazingly, still remains active in the local political scene.
She is a huge supporter of the BC NDP party and Chilliwack riding candidates Patti MacAhonic and incumbent Gwen O'Mahony and is a very familiar face at political fundraisers and announcements.
Scott was awarded the Governor General's Person's Medal in 1990 and is a self-published author.
On behalf of our readers, the Voice wishes Jean Scott a very happy birthday and many more to come.
