ou couldn't ask for much more from this year's 11th annual Salmon Masters Tournament hosted by Westcoast Resorts from June 5-9, 2013.

The benefiting charities this year are Prostate Cancer BC and Pacific Salmon Foundation. Westcoast Resorts has been a proud supporter of Pacific Salmon Foundation since 1999 and has raised over $850,000 towards salmon conservation through their annual salmon derbies.

"We selected Prostate Cancer BC, as our second charity this year, because it's a cause that hits close to home for many of our guests," said Brian Alexander, Sales Manager. "We anticipate raising over $20,000 for Prostate Cancer BC this year from our 5-day Salmon Masters event."

In addition to being a great fundraiser, Salmon Masters is a non-stop high for it's 128 competitors. Fishing BC's west coast is an unforgettable experience in itself, however for the 128 Salmon Masters anglers pitted against each other to reel in the biggest salmon, the fun and adrenaline never stops. The anglers are flown in by helicopter to one of Westcoast Resorts three luxury lodges. Each lodge is situated on BC's beautiful coastline amidst the wild flora and fauna, where they enjoy luxury accommodations and gourmet west coast meals.

During three exhilarating days of competitive fishing, many fish stories are born, but at the end of the day the angler with the biggest salmon on the dock takes home the cash. The $360,000 purse is split into daily prizes and a grand prize for the tournament winner. Last year's tournament winner walked away with the title and just over $140,000 in winnings. Each Salmon Masters tournament winner automatically qualifies for the Offshore World Championship and has the option to compete the following year. Andre Pachon, winner of the 2012 Salmon Master tournament, flew to Costa Rica this year to compete in the event which ran April 14-19, 2013.

Westcoast Resorts 2013 Salmon Masters tournament is open to anyone, however only a few spots currently remain. New for 2014 are corporate sponsorships, enabling business owners to support two great charities while writing off an amazing fishing experience for top customers, top performers, or themselves.
