The program is solution-oriented and designed to be easy, yet very effective in reducing the incidence of crime on rental property.

The program utilizes a three part approach which ensures the crime prevention goal while maintaining an approach which is very tenant-friendly.

September 26th Sunday - 9 am to 5 pm
BC Rivers Day Chilliwack/Vedder River Cleanups

There will be a Chilliwack River cleanup Sunday. Meet at the Fish & Game Club on Chilliwack Lake Rd.

The Chilliwack River is the most heavily used watershed by recreational users in British Columbia. Beside angling, visitors can enjoy kayaking, whitewater rafting, camping, bird watching on the Chilliwack River. Unfortunately, such heavy usage often results in abuse of the environment by those who choose to litter instead of packing out their garbage. These river clean-ups do not only ensure that irresponsibly disposed litters are picked up, but also bring public awareness to this issue.

Cleanup events take place three times per year on the Chilliwack/Vedder River. They usually occur near the end of each camping and fishing season when garbage problem peaks. There are four major cleanup events each year, including the annual Rivers Day celebration in September.

During cleanup events, participants from all ages, ethnic backgrounds and occupations come out to give the river a complete make-over. All you need to do is show up with plenty of energy, a big smile and a pair of gloves. Garbage bags, cans are normally provided by us. If you are interested in participating in future cleanups, please email us and we will add you onto our mailing list. You will be notified when these events take place. More information of each clean-up will be announced when the event approaches. For more information visit www.cleanrivers.ca
