We put up 300 posters around Chilliwack and surrounding areas, but  we were even more devastated when we heard the news that our dog was stolen and sold for drugs.

B&E's and property crimes are also on the wane and car thefts have decreased by 50%. Even though vandalism and thefts from cars remain the same, Chilliwack is a slightly more livable city now.

n July 1, the much-maligned Harmonized Sales Tax kicked in. Forgotten in the furor surrounding the tax, is a annual Carbon Tax increase July 1 that boosts the price of gasoline by 1.12¢ to 4.45¢ litre.

    Local gas prices have been stable at 103.9 litre for the last couple of weeks then shot up to 109.9 July1. Happy Canada Day.

very picture has at least a thousand words to say, but the photo of the city that Hasbro chose         Chilliwack photog Ryan Dyck  for their board game will only say one thing – see Chilliwack.

 

The snapshot, taken by local amateur photographer Ryan Dyck, captured the green heart of the Fraser Valley. Also, when he took the photo, he inadvertently caught a paraglider in it and that will also showcase the air park against a background of Mt. Cheam's wild white peaks. In other words, it's perfect and what the city would want the world to see.
