Postage Rates Set To Go Up 2¢

increase by 2 cents, from 59 cents to 61 cents, for standard letters
weighing up to 30 grams, effective January 16, 2012. This is part of a five

Chilliwack emergency crews respond to pedestrian-MVA Tuesday.

were first on the scene on a call to a pedestrian-motor vehicle accident
at the corner of Spadina Ave and Yale Rd. Tuesday afternoon.
It's unclear if the person was on a bicycle, but their injuries were not life-threatening. The victim was eventually taken to Chilliwack General Hospital. Bad road conditions may have been a factor in the mishap.
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the Vancouver area. Chilliwack is only expecting about 5mm overnight, however Wednesday's forecast is for up to 15mm, at times very heavy, with winds gusting around 30 km/h in the city and up to 80km/h in the Hope area. Visit www.drivebc.ca for the latest BC road conditions.
It's always a good idea to stock up on spare batteries, candles and other necessities in case the power does go out.
